Appalachian Hospice Care was founded in 1991 by a registered nurse who was looking to make a difference. AHC offers a wide range of services - skilled nursing, personal care, spiritual care, social work, respite/sitter, homemaking, and therapy services - to patients who are diagnosed with life-limiting illnesses. AHC serves patients in Floyd, Johnson, Magoffin, Martin, and Pike Counties. Doctors and nurses are on-call 24/7, on weekends, and holidays to address patients' needs, make visits, and make medication changes. As a not-for-profit provider AHC covers the costs of equipment, supplies, and medications related to patients' admitting diagnoses.

Hospice is a special kind of comfort care designed to treat patients who are suffering from life-limiting illnesses (Cancer, Cardiac Disease, Pulmonary Disease, Renal Disease, Liver Disease, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and others). Hospice is for when focus shifts from curing to caring. The program aims to control pain and symptoms of patients who decide to no longer seek curative treatment. Our ultimate goal is to help patients and their families live as fully as possible. Services provided by AHC are from caring, local professionals from your community that you know and trust!

Our staff is on-call round the clock to accept new referrals and provide patients with the care they need. If you believe you or a loved one could benefit from hospice services, call us today!
